ArmInfo. A number of international companies acted as a bidder for the purchase of "VEON Armenia" through the Armenian company "Novatel", which was technically created for this purpose. Executive director of Novatel Minas Yerznkyan will inform the journalists about this today.
In an interview with ArmInfo, Yerznkyan emphasized that Novatel has no affiliated connection with the Russian company of the same name, and therefore the previously disseminated messages about the interest of the Russian company in the deal do not correspond to reality. He also stressed that to disclose the names of foreign companies interested in buying "VEON Armenia" is still unable to disclose due to the non- disclosure agreement. The deal has its own logical step-by-step procedure, and after it passes the company - the applicants will be named. He only noted that the applicants for the purchase are businessmen who grew up and received education in Armenia and want to develop competitive communication services in their homeland. Yerznkyan highly appreciated the level of development and professionalism of the employees of "VEON Armenia", whose potential is very high. It is able to further develop the 4G network without high costs, and also begin to introduce 5G.
To note, the former management of Ucom, which created a new <Team> company, is also a contender for the purchase of "VEON Armenia". The transaction price was set at USD 50 million.
