In the first half of the year, the external debt to Germany (KfW) was also reduced by 2% to $ 373 million, to Japan (JICA) - by 0.5% to $ 224.3 million, to the United States - by 7% to $ 15.5 million, and the debt to France, on the contrary, it grew by 8.5% - up to $ 137.9 million. According to the source, in total, under bilateral credit programs, the amount of debt decreased in the first half of the year by 1.8% - to $ 1.155 billion (19.3% of Armenia's total external debt).
As for Armenia's external debt under multilateral credit programs, this amount recorded a six-month growth of 6.5% - up to $ 3.837 billion (64.1% of Armenia's total external debt). And this growth was mainly ensured by an increase in debt to the IMF by 98.7% - to $ 503.3 million (including due to the stand-by loan added in May), as well as to the European Investment Bank - by 9, 1% to $ 245.1 million, and by the European Union - by 0.7% to $ 73.3 million. And the debt to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) did not change for six months, but decreased by 6.8% on an annualized basis, amounting to $ 19.2 million.
At the same time, the dominant external debt to the World Bank decreased in the first half of this year. by 1.4% (with an annual growth of 0.7%), amounting to $ 1.797 billion. In particular, the debt to the International Development Association (IDA) decreased in the first half of this year. by 3% - to $ 980.7 million, while before the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), on the contrary, it increased, but only by 0.7% - to $ 816 million. As a result, the share of the World Bank in the total external debt of Armenia decreased in the first half of the year from 31.5% to 30%, against 32.7% a year earlier.
The debt to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) decreased by 1.2% in the first half of the year (with an annual growth of 6.7%), amounting to $ 773.6 million, which reduced its share in the total external debt of Armenia from 13.5% to 12.9 % (against 13.3% a year earlier).
The debt to the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) decreased in the first half of the year by 1.5% to $ 63.3 million, and to the OPEC Fund for International Development - by 2.5% to $ 52.6 million.
In total, Armenia's external debt reached $ 5.982 billion by July 2020, having increased by 3.4% or by $ 197 million in the first half of the year, and by 9.6% or by $ 526 million in annual terms. In the total state debt of Armenia, the share of external debts accounted for 77.5%, against 78.7% a year earlier. The specific debt burden per capita increased to $ 2.6 thousand, of which slightly more than $ 2 thousand comes from the external debt, and this is with a meager increase in the population of Armenia (by 0.1% in the first half of this year and by 0.03% in annual section).
The total public debt of Armenia in June 2020 compared to June 2019 increased by 11.3%, and in the first half of this year. - by 5.4%, reaching $ 7.7 billion. But this level has already been passed: in July, the national debt grew by 2.6% or by $ 221 million- up to $ 7.940 billion, of which 76.3% or $ 6.055 billion is external debt. Moreover, the annual growth of these indicators (in July 2020 compared to July 2019) accelerated: the total public debt increased by 13.7% or by $ 955 million, and the external debt - by 11.8% or by $ 641 million.
