ArmInfo. In January - September 2021, the banking system of Armenia sent 40.9 billion drams or $ 84.5 million to the state treasury through taxes, which is 7.6% more than a year ago.
Of this amount, 85.5% or 35 billion drams was paid under direct taxes (including income tax and profits tax), with a y-o-y growth of 5.4%. In the total volume of payments of 1,000 large taxpayers in Armenia, 17 banks account for 4.7% (versus 5.3% a year earlier). This is evidenced by the data of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia. The top five taxpayer banks are: Ameriabank, ACBA Bank, INECOBANK, Armbusinessbank and Armeconombank, which for 9 months of 2021, sent to the state treasury a total of 22.3 billion drams (a y-o-y growth of 17.3%), of which 19.9 billion drams - for direct taxes (a y-o-y growth of 19.1%).
According to the source, 10 out of 17 operating banks were included in the first hundred of the largest taxpayers in Armenia in 9 months of 2021, against 12 a year earlier.
The leader among banks in the list of large taxpayers is Ameriabank, which took 15th place (against 24th a year earlier), which paid 7.1 billion drams to the state treasury, of which 6.6 billion drams in direct taxes. It is followed by: ACBA Bank - 25th place (against 22nd a year earlier), having directed 4.4 billion drams to the state budget, of which 3.5 billion drams - direct taxes (including income tax and profits tax); INECOBANK - 28th place (against 48th a year earlier), which paid 4.2 billion (including 3.8 billion in direct taxes); Armbusinessbank - 36th place (against 32nd a year earlier), having directed 3.5 billion, of which 3.2 billion - for direct taxes. And Armeconombank closes the top five - 43rd place (against 56th a year earlier), which paid 3.2 billion to the state budget, of which 2.6 billion - in direct taxes.
The first hundred large taxpayers also included: VTB Bank (Armenia)- 58th place (against 59th a year earlier) - 2.6 billion (of which 2 billion - for direct taxes); Armswissbank - 61st place (against 29th a year earlier) - 2.4 billion (of which 2.3 billion - for direct taxes); IDBank - 76th place (against 134th a year earlier) - 2 billion drams (of which 1.8 billion drams - for direct taxes); Converse Bank - 82nd place (against 41st place a year earlier) - 1.8 billion drams (of which 1.4 billion - for direct taxes).
Among the second hundred large taxpayers in Armenia are: Unibank - 102nd place (against 52nd a year earlier) - 1.6 billion drams, of which 1.3 billion drams - for direct taxes; ARARATBANK - 104th place (against 79th a year earlier) - 1.6 billion, of which 1.1 billion - in direct taxes; HSBC Bank Armenia -108th place (against 101st a year earlier) - 1.5 billion, incl. 800.1 million in direct taxes.
The list of 1000 large taxpayers in Armenia also includes Byblos Bank Armenia - 226th place (against 194th a year earlier) - 693.5 million drams, incl. 608.4 million drams - for direct taxes; Evocabank - 245th place (against 91st a year earlier) - 642.5 million drams, of which 485 million - for direct taxes; Mellat Bank - 293rd place (against 224th a year earlier) - 555.9 million, of which 521.7 million - for direct taxes; and Artsakhbank - 849th place (against 641st a year earlier) -178.3 million drams, of which 143.3 million - income tax.
To note, in January-September 2020, the top five taxpayer banks included ACBA Bank, Ameriabank, Armswissbank, Armbusinessbank and Ardshinbank, which sent to the state treasury for 9 months of 2020, a total of 19 billion drams (a y-o-y decline of 18%), of which 16.7 billion drams - for direct taxes (a y-o-y decline of 25%). And in total, the banking system (all 17 banks) transferred 38 billion drams or $ 78 million to the state treasury for 9 months of 2020 (with a y-o-y decline of 10%) to the state treasury. Of this amount, 87.4% or 33.2 billion drams was paid under direct taxes (including income tax and profits tax), with a y-o-y decline of 15%.
