
ArmInfo. Armenia's Ministry of Economy, with the "PSD TVET" Programme implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, plans to develop a furniture production development strategy. The plans were announced following a meeting between Armenia's Deputy Minister Rafael Gevorgyan with representatives of Armenia's furniture trade.
The strategy is aimed at improving conditions for sustainable economic development of the furniture trade.
An expert study based on international experience will be conducted within the next two months by means of visits to furniture factories, discussions and collection of information.
GIZ has been working in Armenia since the early 1990s and has maintained an office in Yerevan since 2002.
The proceeds of Armenia's furniture trade totaled $2.4mln this January-March - 41.8% growth.
