ArmInfo. For 9 months of 2022, the net inflow of mutual direct investments increased in all EAEU member states, except for Kazakhstan.
According to the report of the Department of Financial Statistics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), direct mutual investments in Belarus increased 1.9-fold, in Armenia - 5.9-fold, in Kyrgyzstan - 4- fold, in Russia - by 61.1%. In Kazakhstan, the flow of direct investment from the EAEU countries decreased by 33.5%.
The predominant instruments of mutual direct investment were investments in the capital of companies and shares of investment funds.
The main investor in the EAEU is Russia. The Russian Federation also acts as the main and only investor of Armenia among the countries of the Eurasian Union. According to the source, the volume of mutual direct investments between Armenia and the Russian Federation for the reporting period amounted to $118.5 million.
The report also noted that direct investment from all countries of the world increased in all member states of the EAEU, except for Russia, where there was an outflow of direct investment. In particular, $748.1 million was invested in Armenia over the first 9 months of 2022, 3-fold higher than a year ago.
