ArmInfo. On April 12, at a government meeting, the Government of Armenia approved the proposal to sign a protocol "On introducing amendments and additions to the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on international road transport dated November 6, 2006."
As stated in the explanation to the document, there is currently a problem in the field of cargo transportation between the two countries associated with the legal regulation of the collection of road and environmental taxes. To solve the problem, it is necessary to make changes to the Agreement that will regulate the process of determining benefits for the exemption of vehicles registered in the territory of the state of one party from taxes and fees provided for by the legislation of the other party.
In order to solve the abovementioned problem, a draft protocol has been developed "On introducing amendments and additions to the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on international road transport", which amends Articles 2, 5 and 11 of the Agreement, and also clarifies the names of the authorized bodies of the Armenian and the Kazakh sides.
"The change in the agreement will make it possible to facilitate the process of passenger and freight transportation between the two countries by road, and to increase the role of Armenia as a transit country in the organization of freight transportation in the region," the document says.
