ArmInfo. About 20 thousand internally displaced persons from Artsakh found employment in Armenia. In addition, several hundred Artsakh residents have already applied for participation in the government's housing program, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs David Khachatryan said on July 10 in a conversation with reporters.
"According to the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, as of April there were 15-16 thousand officially employed," he said, adding that over the past period their number has increased. In addition, many, although they found work, were not officially registered. "For example, many taxi drivers, who, as we see, are migrants from Artsakh," he noted. According to the deputy minister, the number of officially employed Artsakh residents will increase - it is only a matter of time.
Regarding the issues of providing migrants from Artsakh with housing in the Republic of Armenia, the Deputy Minister noted that several hundred Artsakh residents have already applied to participate in the government program and receive certificates for the purchase of apartments. The certificate issued to each person provides for the allocation of 3 to 5 million drams for each family member. The area of the purchased apartment should not be less than 12 square meters per family member, and the price of the apartment cannot exceed 55 million drams, Khachatryan recalled.
