Renovation of road running to Armenian-Georgian border in progress

ArmInfo.  Major repairs are  underway on the M-1 Yerevan- Gyumri-state border interstate highway  section. This was reported by the Road Department Foundation.

As noted in the report, major repairs are underway on a 11.5 km long  section of the road that runs through the Shirak region from the city  of Ashotsk to the Bavra border checkpoint. The work began in 2023. At  present, the inner layer of asphalt concrete has been completely  laid, and the top layer has been laid on a 4.8 km section. On the  remaining sections, work continues on installing the top layer, and  curbs are being installed. After asphalting, the road will be  equipped with safety elements. Completion of the work is scheduled  for autumn.

The contract value of the construction work is about 2 billion 338  million drams. Major repairs are being carried out at the expense of  the RA state budget.
