 U.S. Government to increase grant assistance to Armenia by $130  million, to reach $250 million

ArmInfo. The US Government will increase the amount of grant assistance to Armenia by $130  million, bringing it to $250 million. At the meeting on September 26, the Government of the Republic of Armenia approved the number one amendment to the grant agreement, signed on September 10, 2024.

As noted in the rationale for the draft decision, on June 29, 2022, a  grant cooperation agreement was signed between the Government of the  Republic of Armenia and the United States Agency for International  Development (USAID), to provide grant support for Armenia's efforts  to implement reforms focused on enhancing democracy and economic  stability. On September 10, 2024, Amendment No. 1 to the said  agreement was signed. This amendment increases the total amount of US  assistance provided to Armenia by $130 million, bringing the total  planned contribution of USAID to the development of the republic to  $250 million.

Additional financial allocations are planned for such key areas such  as disaster risk management, cybersecurity, food and energy security,  regional cooperation and trade, democratic processes, and inclusive  economic development.
