No consensus yet on issue of unblocking railway - Armenian  vice-premier

ArmInfo. There is no consensus yet on the issue of unblocking the railway. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan told journalists on October 21.

According to him, there is no consensus on this issue in the working  groups of the Republic of Armenia, the Russian Federation and the  Republic of Azerbaijan. For this reason, meetings of the working  groups on unblocking the region's transport and economic  communications are not being held.

"You know that there are fundamental issues on which there should be  consensus. Until there is consensus, there is no point in discussing  details," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

The trilateral working group was created in 2021 by the decision of  the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, co-chaired by the  deputy prime ministers of the three countries. In June 2023, at the  12th meeting of the group, a common understanding was agreed on the  restoration and organization of railway communication between Armenia  and Azerbaijan. The parties almost reached a comprehensive balanced  agreement, but subsequently the process stalled.
