ArmInfo.A meeting was held in Bishkek between the Ambassador of Armenia to Kyrgyzstan (with residence in Astana) Armen Ghevondyan and the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic Absattar Syrgabayev.
As ArmInfo was informed by the press service of the Armenian Embassy in Kazakhstan, in the context of the development of Armenian-Kyrgyz cooperation in the field of transport with an emphasis on increasing the volume of mutual trade turnover and revealing the transit potential of the two countries, the meeting discussed a sequence of steps and measures aimed at identifying new mutually beneficial, including multimodal, transport routes.
At the meeting, Ghevondyan also presented Yerevan's efforts to ensure the unblocking of all transport links in the South Caucasus. In turn, Syrgabaev familiarized himself with the plans of the Kyrgyz government to diversify and build new communications that could also expand connectivity both within Central Asia itself and in a broader context.
Following the meeting, readiness for close dialogue aimed at developing and subsequently implementing proposals for promising routes in demand in economic cooperation was confirmed. Earlier, Gevondyan visited the "Center for the Development and Promotion of Exports "Kyrgyz Export", where he got acquainted with the main areas of its activities.
At a meeting with the Director of the Center, Urmat Takirov, in the context of promoting Armenian-Kyrgyz trade and economic cooperation, issues of interaction between the Embassy and "Kyrgyz Export" were discussed in a constructive manner in the interests of providing practical assistance to economic entities of the two countries in establishing long-term partnerships, as well as in terms of developing optimal chains of mutual supplies of goods and services.
We add that the "Center for the Development and Promotion of Exports "Kyrgyz Export" under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic was established in 2023 in order to improve the quality and efficiency of the functions of export development and promotion, growth of export potential and competitiveness of domestic producers.
