ArmInfo. The International Chamber of Commerce is planning to open a branch in Kazakhstan. This was reported to an ArmInfo correspondent by Hayk Margaryan, a member of the Board of Directors of the Armenian representative office of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the head of the Commission on Investments and Trade
He added that the proposal to open a branch of the International Chamber of Commerce came from Kazakhstani colleagues. Margaryan mentioned that the International Chamber of Commerce is the largest chamber of commerce in the world, with observer status in the UN and its headquarters in Paris. "ICC has representative offices in 130 countries, including Armenia," Margaryan noted.
When asked about how the opening of the ICC branch in Kazakhstan will impact the Armenian-Kazakh bilateral economic relations, Margaryan noted that two members of the Armenian Chamber have already established an Armenian pavilion at the Khorgos International Border Cooperation Center. "Recently we held a forum where approximately 40 Armenian manufacturers showed interest in showcasing their products at the Armenian pavilion in Khorgos. This will boost exports and encourage the diversification of Armenian exports to other countries, including Central Asia. Additionally, this will promote the development of relations in new technologies and digitalization," he added. Margaryan also highlighted the Kazakh side's acquaintance with the activities of the Armenian center for creative technologies "TUMO" and their decision to open as branch in Kazakhstan next year as a successful initiative. "This will make cooperation with Kazakhstan more structured, rather than sporadic as it currently stands," Margaryan concluded.
