Lusine Gevorgyan: Armenia is ready to host events  that meet  international standards

ArmInfo. The first tourism MICE forum (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) has started in Yerevan, with the participation of industry experts from  Serbia, Georgia, Greece and Jordan, as well as representatives from  Armenia's tourism industry. The event is organized on the initiative  of the Tourism Committee of Armenia.

During the forum, experts will share their experiences and insights  aimed at fostering the development of the industry. The forum offers  a unique opportunity for representatives from travel agencies, hotel  businesses, tourism product providers, and organizations offering  MICE services in Armenia, to gain valuable insights into current  challenges, new developments, trends and to exchange experiences. In  her opening remarks, Lusine Gevorgyan, the Chairperson of the Tourism  Committee, stated that Armenia is ready and has the necessary  infrastructure to host events, including MICE forums that meet  international standards. "Armenia, with its indescribable landscapes,  rich historical and cultural heritage, famous for its warm  hospitality and thousand-year history of wine, is already positioning  itself as the best place to host MICE forums."

The Chair of the Committee expressed confidence that the event serves  as more than just a platform for discussions and should involve  taking actions. She highlighted the importance of developing a clear  action plan to Armenia an attractive platform for international  forums.

In response to a question from an ArmInfo reporter, Gevorgyan noted  that MICE is an emerging sector for Armenian tourism. She also  pointed out that since 2018, the country has gained experience in  hosting major international events such as WCIT, Francophonie Days,  international sports championships, etc.  Additionally, she  emphasized that MICE is a promising area, as it can generate a  substantial profit. Hosting major international events brings in   hundreds or even thousands of visitors at once, which, she believes,  significantly benefits the economy. Gevorgyan emphasized that the  Tourism Committee aims to promote business tourism by organizing and  supporting various events and forums.
