ArmInfo.The Ministry of Economy is negotiating with the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) to receive consulting support in attracting an international operator for industrial zones, as reported by the press service of the department, following a meeting between Deputy Minister Edgar Zakaryan and a delegation from NORAD.
The parties discussed the possibilities for bilateral cooperation. Zakaryan briefed the guests on the state's create industrial zones creation plans, shared state economic policy and priorities, as well as industry development trends and prospects. They also touched upon potential NORAD programs in Armenia across various sectors and other matters of mutual interest. It should be noted that the Statistical Committee of Armenia doesn't have data on the trade turnover between Armenia and Norway. According to the Customs Service, Armenian exports to Norway were valued at $23.5 thousand in the first half of 2024, showing a significant increase compared to the previous year. Imports from Norway decreased by 11.6% to $2.5 million during the same period.
