ArmInfo.During a working visit to the United States, RA Minister of Finance Vahe Hovhannisyan had a meeting with American economist, Nobel Prize winner in economics, professor at Columbia University, and former chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers to the US, President Joseph Stiglitz.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance, the meeting involved discussions on tax policy, tax reforms in Armenia, the introduction of a unified declaration system, and the advancement of the education system.
Vahe Hovhannisyan also spoke about the increase in IT specialists coming to Armenia in recent years and the tax policy towards the IT sector. The Minister mentioned that neighboring countries are creating more favorable conditions for IT specialists and Armenia is currently in serious discussions about implementing significant reforms in this area. At the end of the meeting, the Minister extended an official invitation to Professor Stiglitz to visit Armenia and expressed his readiness to continue the same discussions and exchange of ideas in Armenia.
