ArmInfo. Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Plant CJSC (ZCMC) has issued another statement regarding the situation at the enterprise.
The statement notes that on February 6, 2025, a working meeting was held under the leadership of the General Director of the Company with the heads of all production units and structural divisions of ZCMC. During the meeting, it was noted that the overwhelming majority of employees are ready to begin their work responsibilities and restore the uninterrupted production process of ZCMC. Moreover, in recent days, the company's employees have tried to resume work three times, but were unable to do so due to threats of violence, physical interference and restrictions on movement from a small group of about 70 people. The company has already filed three complaints with the RA law enforcement agencies regarding the fore- mentioned facts.
"Some of the people hindering the company from restarting have no affiliation with it whatsoever. They are not recognized as employees, nor are they representatives of the Kajaran or Kapan communities. The company believes that a small group of people should not have the power to constantly disrupt the operations of a strategically important organization through unlawful means, resulting in significant material damage to thousands of employees, communities, the Republic of Armenia, and the company itself. ZCMC CJSC will take all measures provided by law to ensure the safety of its employees, as well as the protection of production facilities and property. The company has discussed organizational issues with employees and has pledged to create a special committee after the restoration of production. The committee will discuss existing problems with each production unit in a civilized working atmosphere, and will carefully develop a salary change program to ensure progressive, transparent, fair, and comprehensive salary solutions," the statement says.
Recall that since the end of last week, some employees of the company have gone on strike, demanding a 50% salary increase. ZCMC CJSC considers these demands unrealistic and the actions of the strikers to be outside the scope of the Labor Code.
