ArmInfo. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan and Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Office in Armenia Donald Lambert exchanged views on the current framework of bilateral cooperation and discussed priority areas of cooperation for the coming years.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian government, Khachatryan and Lambert reviewed joint work aimed at improving the seismic safety of schools.
In this vein, touching upon the importance of continuing the cooperation formed in this direction, the interlocutors emphasized that it has set new benchmarks in terms of the quality and safety of construction in schools in the Republic.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Director of the ADB Office in Armenia also reviewed the implementation of the investment program for the construction of the North-South International Transport Corridor and discussed ongoing cooperation in the field of irrigation infrastructure and effective water resources management. It should be noted that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is the second largest creditor of Armenia with a share of 21.2%. The bank has been working with Armenia since 2005. As of the end of 2024, ADB has implemented numerous projects in Armenia worth $1.9 billion, which were aimed at developing the transport, financial, energy and water sectors, and other infrastructure.
