ArmInfo. AMD 19.6bln will be allocated for the continuation of the road construction program in Armenia. The decision was made at a government meeting on August 6.
According to David Khudatyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, the funds will be used for the construction and repair of roads, the preparation of new projects, and the procurement of services. The total length of roads to be repaired will be 63.5 km, some of which are interstate roads, while others are national roads. A significant amount of work will also be carried out on local roads. The minister noted that two other government decisions have already allocated 3.7 billion drams for the medium-term repair of 76.4 km of roads and another 1.6 billion drams for the repair of 10.6 km of roads leading to educational clusters.
According to the justification for the draft decision, the program's goal is to carry out major repairs of 18 road sections, provide technical and architectural supervision services, prepare major repair projects for 38 road sections, provide cost assessment and expert evaluation services, provide major repair services for one road section, and provide architectural supervision services for one road section, as well as provide the necessary documentation for the major repair of one road section. It is also envisaged to allocate funds for the construction of three transport facilities and the reconstruction of one transport facility.
