ArmInfo.  Armenia highly values the format of cooperation established with the Asian Development Bank. RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan stated this during a meeting with ADB Country Director for the RA Lyaziza Sabirova.

Arminfo.  The Central Bank of Armenia and the National Bank of Georgia signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the financial sector. The goal is to strengthen the stability of the financial systems of the two countries, increase the transparency and resilience of the financial sector, and protect the legitimate interests of depositors and investors. There is a misconception in the Armenian public about the upcoming salary increases for the country's top officials: not only the Prime Minister and members of the government, but also about 20,000 civil service employees will receive raises. This was stated by Taron Chakhoyan, a member of the National Assembly from the ruling Civil Contract faction, at a briefing in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on September 22, when answering a question about how the performance of civil servants will be assessed and whether they will be dismissed if their results are negative.

The Central Bank of Armenia, together with J-PAL Europe, organized a seminar, "From Evidence to Policy: Building a Culture of Experimentation," with the participation of Nobel Prize laureate in economics and one of the world's leading economists, Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee. The seminar took place on September 22 in the Armenian resort town of Dilijan (Tavush Region). The seminar focused on the development and implementation of policies based on facts and scientific research.

Arminfo.  Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan received Sheikha Nasser Al-Nawais, Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).  The meeting took place within the framework of the International Conference on Medical Tourism being held in Yerevan.

ArmInfo. The net inflow of private transfers to Armenia in January-July 2026 posted substantial annual growth of 2.6 times (following a 5.5% decline a year earlier), amounting to $1.9 billion. At the same time, the net inflow of non-commercial transfers increased by 25.1% (almost the same as a year earlier - 25.9%), reaching $482.1 million. The share of the latter in the total net inflow decreased to 26% (after rising a year earlier from 40% to 54%). This is evidenced by data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.

ArmInfo. On the sidelines of the “Advancing the Agentic World” forum taking place in China, Huawei Technologies and Armenia’s Enterprise Incubator Foundation signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand cooperation in the areas of artificial intelligence, advanced digital technologies, research, innovation, talent development and industrial transformation. This is stated in a foundation release.

ArmInfo. The government is discussing the possibility of raising the minimum wage. Eduard Aghajanyan, a member of parliament from the ruling Civil Contract party, told reporters during a briefing on September 18.

ArmInfo.  On Armenia’s foreign exchange interbank market, both dollar and ruble transactions were actively conducted from September 14 to 18. At the same time, euro transactions have not been conducted for the third consecutive week. In particular, the trend in dollar transactions shifted from a 13.3% decline to 31% growth, while the growth in ruble transactions sharply accelerated from 30.2% to 94%. This allowed the weekly volume of ruble transactions to retain its predominance over dollar transactions, with the gap increasing from 2.2 times to 3.3 times.

ArmInfo.  Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Eduard Hakobyan received representatives of the missions that began operating in Armenia with the support of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to introduce international best practices for improving tax administration processes aimed at identifying unregistered workers, as well as assessing the tax authority and its capabilities in the field of international taxation using the FITAS tool (Framework for International Tax Administration Strengthening).

Arminfo. The project to issue Arca UnionPay co-badged cards has officially been launched in Armenia as part of cooperation between the national payment systems of Armenia and China - Armenian Card (Arca) and UnionPay International (UPI). Convers Bank is one of the first in Armenia to offer its cardholders the opportunity to obtain an Arca UnionPay co-badged card with the capabilities of both systems - local and international.
