Armenia`s GDP increased by 7.2% in 2025, while foreign trade suffered  a double-digit decline

ArmInfo.Armenia's GDP in 2025 amounted to 11.318 trillion drams (over $29.2 billion),  showing a 7.2% increase. According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the GDP deflator index for 2025 rose to 103.6% (from 101.4% in 2024).  

Armenia welcomed 2.12 million tourists  in January-November

Wizz Air launches Bratislava-Yerevan-Bratislava flights

Armenia`s GDP approached $20 billion in the first nine months of 2025

ArmInfo. In the first nine months of 2025, Armenia's GDP amounted to 7.730 trillion drams ($19.9 billion), increasing from 2.537 trillion drams in the second quarter to 3.072 trillion drams in the third quarter.

Armenia`s metallurgy sector decreased by 10% in the first nine months

ArmInfo.  Armenia's metallurgy sector saw an average production decline of 10% in the  first nine months of 2025 (compared to a 7% increase the previous  year ).  According to data from the RA Statistics Committee, this  decline was mainly due to  a deterioration in copper and molybdenum  concentrate production, with ferromolybdenum output also seeing a  continued decline.

EU investing 5 million euros in Armenia`s nuclear safety

Active USD transactions in Armenia`s interbank foreign exchange market  February 3-7, 2025

ArmInfo. February 3 to 7, 2025, in Armenia's interbank foreign exchange market, daily USD and two RUB transactions were effected, with no EUR transactions effected.  USD transactions showed an 87% decline against a 3-fold growth the previous week. RUB transactions showed a 23% growth as against an 58 % decline. The total amount of USD transactions exceeded that of RUB transactions 1.2-fold  up to 9 fold..  Duding the period under review against the previous period (Jan 27-31, 2025), in Armenia's intrabank foreign exchange market, USD, EUR and  RUB showed a downward trend, while EUR and RUB sales showed a growth.

Rosatom inspects radioactive waste storage facility of Armenian NPP

Armenia`s CB revises GDP growth forecast for 2024 upward

North-South`s construction odyssey: Only 10% of road has been  completed in 12 years

About 75% of Armenia`s exports are precious metals and stones, which  speaks of vulnerability of Armenia`s economy

ArmInfo. 75% of Armenia's exports in Q1 of 2024, were precious and semi-precious stones and metals. An  increase in gold re-exports has been observed since November 2023.  This circumstance contains great risks, because economic growth is currently exogenous, and in the event of a change in any of the  external incentives, as well as a significant decrease in gold re-exports, the Armenian economy will become vulnerable. A similar assessment was made by Associate Professor of the Armenian State University of Economics, economist Aghasi Tavadyan.

Armenia`s gross international reserves $3.3bln by end of 1st quarter  2024

ArmInfo.Armenia's gross international reserves (GIR), after reaching a record $4.220 billion in August 2023, then began to decline monthly, amounting to $3.304 billion by April 1, 2024. On an annual basis, this figure decreased by 11.3% (or by $420.4 million), in while in 2023, annual growth of 26.7% (or $784 million) was recorded, according to the data by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.

ADB forecasts 5.7% economic growth for Armenia in 2024

1.2% y-o-y inflation in Armenia`s consumer market in March 2024 was  caused by drop in food prices

ArmInfo.The 1.2% deflation in the consumer market of Armenia in March 2024 compared to March 2023  (compared to the 5.4% inflation recorded a year ago) was caused by the drop in food prices. In Q1 2024, inflation was slightly lower than last year's quarterly level - 0.2% versus 0.8%, which was the result of cheaper non-food products.
