ArmInfo. The construction of the Kajaran-Agarak highway is proceeding on schedule and with high quality, as stated by RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan during a government  hour on March 25, when asked whether the Iranian construction workers for this section of the highway remained in the country or left due to military operations in Iran.

ArmInfo.The Armenian government is assisting internally displace persons from Nagorno-Karabakh in establishing small businesses, as stated by RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Arsen Torosyan, during a government hour  on March 25.

ArmInfo.During a meeting with Serbian Ambassador to the Republic Tatjana Cvetkovic, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan praised the effective cooperation and strong friendly relations  established between Armenia and Serbia, emphasizing that the development of bilateral ties remains a key priority for the Armenian authorities.

ArmInfo. By the end of the year, 1 million residents of Armenia will have modern identification and a digital signature, allowing them to use online services, as stated by Nerses Yeritsyan, Director of the Information Systems Agency of Armenia, in response to questions from parliamentarians.

ArmInfo.  On March 25, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan received an International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation in Armenia, led by the head of the mission, Alexander Timan.

ArmInfo.  Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received a delegation led by Alexander Timan, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief in Armenia.  Umang Rawat, IMF Resident Representative in Armenia, was also present at the meeting.

ArmInfo.  According to preliminary data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the industrial price index increased from 102.2% to 109% in January-February 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. This  improvement was seen alongside a positive shift in the annual  dynamics of the industrial sector-from a 19.4% decline to a  double-digit 17.2% growth, reaching 491.5 billion drams ($1.3  billion).  

ArmInfo. In Armenia, economic activity growth accelerated to 7.4% annually in January-February 2026 (from 4.1% in the same period of 2025). Moreover, the industrial sector once again became one of the growth drivers, compared to a double-digit decline the year before.  According to preliminary data  from the RA Statistics Committee, this was accompanied by an  improvement in foreign trade, with a significant decline returning to  moderate growth.

ArmInfo. Although Iran is of little importance to Armenia in terms of transit, it nonetheless plays a significant role in the import of certain goods. For example, in 2025, approximately $50 million worth of Chinese cars were  imported to Armenia through Iran, according to Haykaz Fanyan, head of  the ACSES analytical center.

ArmInfo. A business mission from the Oryol and Rostov regions has launched at the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Armenia.  According to the Russian Embassy in Armenia, the visit was organized by regional Export Support Centers with the assistance of the Trade Mission of Russia in Armenia.

ArmInfo.The income tax refund program for mortgage lending, despite its economic and social benefits, has become a significant financial burden for the state budget.  Haykaz Fanyan, head of the Modex consulting company, shared his assessment.

ArmInfo.Business conditions in Armenia will be simplified. At its plenary session on March 24, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia will discuss in amendments to the Tax Code the first reading,  aimed at  regulating documentation, tax reporting, as well as the calculation and payment of VAT and income tax.

ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities are initiating a major revision of tender rules. Amendments to the Law "On Procurement" will be discussed in the first  reading at the plenary session of the National Assembly of the  Republic of Armenia on March 24.

ArmInfo. Armenia has approved the creation of a free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union and Mongolia. The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia is discussing a draft interim trade agreement between the EAEU and Mongolia, submitted by the Armenian government, at its plenary  session on March 24.

ArmInfo. Ameriabank was named the Best Bank in Armenia by Global Finance magazine in its 33^rd annual awards for the World’s Best Banks. The winning 23 banks were chosen in nearly 150 countries and territories with consideration of criteria such as growth in assets, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, business development and innovation.

ArmInfo. Cybersecurity is no longer just a professional field, but rather a foundation for the development of the economy, state security, and digital systems. This was stated by Ruben Simonyan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, speaking at an event celebrating the results of the first  phase of the "Cybersecurity Capacity Building" program, which was  held at TUMO Labs.

ArmInfo. The 9th meeting of the EU-Armenia Subcommittee on Energy, Transport, Environment,  Climate, and Civil Protection took place in Brussels.  The Armenian delegation was led by Armen Simonyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, and the EU delegation was chaired by Deren Derya, Head of the European External Action Service.
