ArmInfo. On  January-April 2017 the volume of  industrial production of Armenia versus the same period of 2016 grew for 12,9% (versus 10% growth a year ago), forming  AMD 485,5 bln. (USD 999,7 mln). And only for April the sector demonstrated a dropdown for 7% - down to AMD 123,6 bln ( USD 211,8 mln). According to  Armenian Statistics Service Data, the annual growth of industrial sector is preconditioned with processing industry growth within  ongoing growth of mining sector.

ArmInfo. Lebanese businessmen and Armenian partners are discussing the prospects for implementing two investment programs in the healthcare sphere and setting up an enterprise for the production of household products. This was announced by Lebanese Business Planning Minister Michael Pharaoh at a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on April 28 in Yerevan.

ArmInfo. "The  light industries  sector has  a large  development potential," Souren Karayan, the  Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia stated at  the meeting with textile industry entities representatives on April  12..

ArmInfo. In Jan-Feb 2017 the extent of Armenian industrial production at the same period of 2016 increased by 16.1%( versus 9.9% growth a year ago), totaling 228.4 bln AMD ($469.7mln). Only for February the field registered growth from 10.5% to 120.3 bln AMD ($ 247.3mln). According to the Armenian National Statistic Service data, the growth of industrial sector is based on improvement of movement producing industries at the background of saved growth of mining sector.

ArmInfo. Despite the challenges still existing for  Armenian economy, particularly related to the local market and export potential being restricted, as well as due to taxation reasons and qualifications assurance ( diplomas, degrees, certificates etc), the involvement of Syrian Armenians in the economic life of the country in general could be estimated as positive. This is stated in the annual report of the Economic Development and Research Center (EDRC), implemented within the support of Deutsche Gesellschaftfur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

ArmInfo. The improvement of  economic situation in Russia will increase migration from Armenia and  migration is expected to considerably grow if Armenia's economy fails  to accelerate its growth rates, Chairman of the Republican Union of  Employers of Armenia Gagik Makaryan said at a press conference.      Makaryan qualified migration as a negative factor but he did not rule  out positive trends stemming from it.  "From the economic viewpoint,  movement of labor force is beneficial to Armenia because we will be  unable to reduce unemployment, which has already made up 18% by  official data," he stressed, noting that the given indicator in the  neighboring countries is much lower: in Turkey - 11.8%, in Iran -  11.3%, in Georgia - 12%, in Azerbaijan - 5%.

ArmInfo. On February 20, the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia held a meeting at which an investment program for the development of agricultural production of Kotayk region of the state was discussed. According to the press service of the Ministry, the meeting was held by Deputy Minister Robert Makaryan.

This was stated by Karen Guloyan, the  Head of Kotayk District during the discussions on district communities prospective held in Tsakhkadzor on February 2 within the participation of Karen karapetyan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.

ArmInfo. VTB Bank (Armenia) has launched a new campaign on lombard loans, within which physical entities are offered beneficial terms of loan with gold collateral.  The press-service of the bank has told ArmInfo that the campaign is being held both in Yerevan and regions of Armenia. The campaign will last till December 30, 2016.

ArmInfo. Prime Minister Karen  Karapetyan visited the sixth edition of JUNWEX Yerevan Show -2016  jewelry and watch-makers' exhibition at Meridian exhibition center.  Note that the Center is located on the territory of the free economic  zone, which offers tax and customs benefits to economic entities.  This year the exhibition is attended by about 80 companies from 14  countries, according to the Government press-office.

"Say nothing but good of the dead," he added.
