In 2012 Office of Financial Ombudsman of Armenia received twice as many complaints as in 2011
ArmInfo. In 2012 the Office of the Financial Ombudsman of Armenia received twice as many complaints as in 2011, the head of the office Piruz Sargsyan said during a conference on Tuesday.
She said that in 2011 the office received 144 written complaints while in Jan-Sept 2012 as many as 260, with 69.3% settled in favor of the complainers.
"The growing number of complaints does not mean that our financial organizations are bad. On the contrary, our financial system is developing and those aware of our activities prefer settling their disputes with our help," Sargsyan said.
She said that a total of 190mln AMD ($465,000) has been paid in compensation since the opening of the office: 26mln AMD in 2009, 29.3mln AMD in 2010, 58.1mln AMD in 2011 and as much as 76.4mln AMD in Q1 2012 alone.
