ArmInfo. More than a dozen Armenian leading companies representing the field of information technology, recently in London participated in the Armenian-British business forum, where they presented their products and a list of services.
As the press service of the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry told ArmInfo, the initiator of the program was the British Embassy in Armenia with the co-financing of the diplomatic mission in Armenia and the EU. More than 5 dozens of Armenian and British companies, as well as organizations providing business assistance participated in the business forum that started on March 9. Armenian IT companies presented their capabilities in a short overview report, and also presented their products. The sides expressed their interest in establishing cooperation.
To note, according to the estimates of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, the turnover of 540 companies involved in the sphere in 2016 amounted $ 500 million, with an average growth almost by 20%. At the end of the year, this branch of the economy provided about 6% of Armenia's GDP. Recently it was reported that in the near future in the Government of Armenia it is planned to discuss a comprehensive program for the development of the IT sphere.
