ArmInfo. We do not see any contradictions in cooperation of Armenia with EU, such opinion was expressed by the Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC, Tatyana Valova, speaking on July 6 during the roundtable "Republic of Armenia: 2 years at the EEU", commenting on the signing of the agreement between Armenia and EU on the launch of a new type of cooperation envisaged in the autumn of this year. "Moreover, we welcome such a partnership agreement," she stressed.
According to EEC Ministry, Kazakhstan has already signed similar agreement with EU, Kirghizia discusses possibilities of launch of negotiations, Belarus also successfully works in this directions. In this regard, it was stated that in autumn of 2015 EEC came out with a suggestion to European Commission on start of negotiations. However, according to Valova, European colleagues are not ready yet to start the talks, referring to political problems with Russia.
At the same time, the most troubling issue in the current negative trends, in her opinion, is that European business is losing its position on the Eurasian market. In particular, she noted that in 2016 EU imports to the markets of the EEU countries decreased by 3%, and in the first quarter the rate of decline accelerated to 8%. "For the first time, the import of countries from Asia-Pacific region prevails over the volume of imports from EU. Therefore, today we welcome any type of agreements with the European Union, "the Minister said.
