ArmInfo. Minister of Health of Armenia Levon Altunyan advocates the introduction of paid "first aid". The minister said this on October 6 at the final press conference.
According to Altunyan, urgent medical care, as before, should be free and affordable for all. And not only for citizens of the country. "Every tourist should have the right to free first aid, also in the context of developing and stimulating tourism," said the head of the Armenian Ministry of Health.
At the same time, you should not deprive the "first aid" of the opportunity to introduce a fee for rendering admissions - such as X-rays or ultrasound at home. "If a patient does not want to get to the polyclinic himself in rainy weather, he can order a service at home," the minister explained.
Earlier, Minister Levon Altunyan stated that, probably, in the near future in Armenia, following Israel's example, a mechanism of rendering paid medical services by ambulance teams can be introduced. One of his predecessors, Minister Ararat Mkrtchyan, at one time spoke about it more drastically, offering to dissolve the service altogether, instead to develop the institute of the family doctor, which, in theory, was to completely replace the ambulance.
