ArmInfo.  The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has improved its forecast for Armenia's GDP growth in 2026 from the previous 5.3% to an updated 5.5% (against actual growth of 7.1% in 2025), now expecting growth rates to remain at 5.5% in 2027 (against the previously predicted acceleration to the same level). This is noted in the IMF's October report "World Economic Outlook. Resilience in a Tense Situation, Urgent Decisions."

ArmInfo. Oleg Belozerov, CEO of Russian Railways, arrived in Armenia at the invitation of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The head of government announced this during a briefing with journalists on October 15.

In the Armenian insurance market, the loss ratio for compulsory motor third-party liability insurance (CMTPLI) decreased slightly in January-September 2026, to 74.5% from 75.2% for the same period in 2025. This is observed against the backdrop of an acceleration in the annual growth of the number of active contracts from 8.1% to 10%, a subtle slowdown in the growth of insurance premiums from 17.8% to 17.2%, and a noticeable acceleration in the growth of compensation from 8.3% to 18.1%.

ArmInfo. The Russian proposal to build a new nuclear power plant (NPP) in Armenia is the most technically and economically sound today and for the next five years. Energy expert Ara Marjanyan stated this on October 14 in an interview with an ArmInfo correspondent on the sidelines of the "Atom - Energy of the Future" educational seminar in Yerevan.

The Armenian Parliament ratified an agreement on the provision of a $240 million loan by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development to Armenia for the implementation of a project to develop the housing and mortgage market in Armenia. ArmInfo. Armenia's economy will grow by 5.8% in 2026. Despite the gradual normalization of domestic demand, the country's economy will maintain sustainable growth rates, and inflation will approach the Central Bank of Armenia's target level in subsequent years. This is stated in the new Regional Economic Review (Fall 2026) published by the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD), which contains forecasts for economic growth, inflation, and other macroeconomic indicators in Armenia for 2026-2029.
